Chinmoy Jena

Chinmoy Jena was born on 15 April, 1951. He began writing and publishing early in his twenties.His poems have appeared in The Illustrated Weekly of India, Youth Times, Chandrabhaga, Indian PEN, Dialogue India, The Miscellany and Helix among other magazines. His poems have also appeared in a number of poetry anthologies. He has translated a number of Odia poets and short story writers into English. His translation of Men Without Shadows a play by Jean-Paul Sartre has been staged by Odisha Sangeet Natak Academy and many other organizations of the state. He taught English Literature in Ravenshaw College/ University and many of the reputed colleges in Odisha. He is a former state Ranji Trophy cricketer. He has worked with Odisha Cricket Association as Vice President as well as the Chairman of the Senior Selection Committee for selecting players for Ranji Trophy team. At present he is a member of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of the OCA.
