Dr Fanindam Deo

Dr Fanindam Deo did his M. A. History from Gangadhar Meher College, Sambalpur University. He has been awarded M. Phil(1984). and Ph. D(1990) degrees from Centre For Historical Studies, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He taught history in Khariar College, Khariar(1977-2000), National College, Nuapada (2000-2005), D.A.V. college, Titilagarh(2005-2009) and retired as Principal Khariar Autonomous College(2009-2014). He was a Fellow, Indian Council for Historical Studies New Delhi (1982-84), UGC Teacher Fellow(1988-90), and Fellow in Indian Institute Of Advanced Study , Shimla(1993-95). He has made his mark as an academician of repute and leading research scholar in the field of Social History, Tribal Studies, Mahima Dharma and Bhima Bhoi. He meaningfully contributed as a resourceful administrator and nominated by the Governor of Odisha as member of Senate, Academic Council and Syndicate of Sambalpur University and Kalahandi University. He has edited two books, Hunger and Under Development: Is there a Way Out for Kalahandi? (!991) and Odishara Bikasha Prakria o Bikalpa (1996) ,authored two books Roots of Poverty: A Social History (2009), Social- Religious Movements and Cultural Networks in Indian Civilisation(2015) and co-authored Socio- Economic Study of Paharia Tribe (2007) . He has to his credit more than 30 research papers in Social Science Journals.
