Dr. Snehaprava Das, former Associate Professor of English has translated more than ten Odia texts including novels, short story collections, plays and long poems, in English. Worth mentioning amongst them are FakirmohanSenapati'sPrayaschitta and UtkalaBhramanam, Pundit GopabandhuDas's Kara Kabita and BandiraAtmakatha, the first and second novels in Odia Padmamali and Bibasini. She has also translated several nonfictional writings in Odia into English. She has five collections of original English poems ( The Dusk Diary , Alone, Songs of Solitude, Moods and Moments, and Never say No to a Rose) to her credit. She has worked as.a Visiting Professor of English in the Department of English Utkal University and in the Department of English Sri Sri University. She is awarded The PrabashiBhashaSahityaSammama by The Intellect, New Delhi, TheFakirmohanAnubadSahityaSammama, and The Jeevanananda Das award for her translation.
