Paresh Patnaik

Paresh Kumar Patnaik writes in Odia. An acclaimed fiction writer Sri Patnaik is well-known for his extra-ordinary style of writing short stories for the last three decades. A recipient of Odisha Sahitya Academy award for novel, Patnaik has carved a niche for himself with the craft of his story telling. His novels and stories highlight social issues with unique style of humour and compassion. He is a strong voice against religious fanatism and superstitions. He has twenty collections of stories and three novels to his credit. Recently he has authored five novellas for young adults. Some of his stories are translated into other Indian languages apart from English and Hindi. His most recent story collections are Iswar Aniswar, Abasistansha, Bhasi Jaa mora Kagaj Danga, Swan Brutanta and Hrudayahin. His books for young adults include Musa O Musi, Goindagiri, Chor police, Chori Bahira Rahasya, Nadiabari Bhuta and Bhutar Bhet. He has authored three novels namely Shoka Divas, Katha Thila and Seshara Arambha. He lives in Bhubaneswar with his wife Tapasi and son Priyam.
