Sobhan Kar

Sobhan Kar is an all-rounder in the true sense of the word. He was not only a cricketing all-rounder in his youth (an opening bowler and a handy batsman) who went on to be a junior National player (attended 2 consecutive India under-16 camps), but has shone in various other aspects of life. A brilliant student (amongst the toppers throughout his academic career culminating in bagging the UGC's Junior Research Fellowship in Economics in his first attempt), a distinguished civil servant (selected in his first attempt), the Indian delegate on two important international tax committees of the OECD, Paris for 6 years, a poet, a philanthropist (he is the founder President of a charitable society for under privileged children called CHESTA and the Chairman cum Managing Trustee of the SaratKar& Anima Kar Foundation), a columnist, a speaker at events, and a guest faculty in various institutes, including at IIMs.
